Defending champion and world number 11 Alexander Bublik headlines the field, joined by two-time tournament winners Casper Ruud (ATP 14) and Matteo Berrettini (ATP 49) all eager to claim the title once more. Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP 80), a semi-finalist in 2024, also makes a welcome comeback.
This year’s draw features ten players from within the top 50, including EFG Global Sports Ambassador Valentin Vacherot (ATP 20), who makes his Gstaad debut. The Monégasque has risen rapidly through the rankings over the past six months, defeating Alexander Bublik and Novak Djokovic on his way to winning the Shanghai Masters 1000, and Lorenzo Musetti and Alex de Minaur on home soil at the Monte Carlo Masters in April.
Also in the draw is Ignacio Buse from Peru (ATP 35), who recently claimed his first ATP title on clay in Hamburg; and Argentine Juan Manuel Cerundolo (ATP 45), who stunned world number one Jannik Sinner at this year’s Roland-Garros. Further Swiss talent will also be given the chance to shine courtesy of the wild card system, with more names to be confirmed over the coming weeks.
The tournament is a uniquely Swiss affair and this year marks a poignant moment in the nation’s sporting history, as Stan Wawrinka plays in Gstaad for the final time. A three-time Grand Slam champion and Olympic doubles gold medallist with Roger Federer, Wawrinka has always had a special bond with Gstaad. To pay tribute, there will be an outdoor concert on Sunday, 12 July, where he will be joined by Swiss musician Bastian Baker.
With one month to go to the final of the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad on 19 July, Giorgio Pradelli, CEO, EFG International, reflected on what makes this year’s edition so special: “The presence of so many greats alongside the next generation of talent promises a week of the highest quality tennis, and it is a privilege to be a part of it. Only one champion can lift the trophy at the end of the week, and to succeed at this level takes preparation, ambition and the support of a trusted team, qualities as vital to our business as they are to tennis.”
Everything is set for another week of world-class competition in one of tennis’s most iconic venues. For a glimpse of what’s to come, watch the official teaser video:
