Talent development

Committed to developing the next generation of entrepreneurial thinkers

Empowering potential

The foundation of all our long-term partnerships is a strong belief in the importance of nurturing and investing in young talent. From Sailing to Sinfonia Smith Square we champion future generations so that they can, in turn, shape tomorrow’s world.

Société Nautique de Genève

EFG is a long-standing sponsor of the Société Nautique de Genève (SNG) sailing school. In 2023, EFG further extended the partnership, thus reinforcing its commitment to youth talent development. Established in 1872 on the shores of Lake Geneva, the SNG today is recognised as one of the most prestigious Swiss yacht clubs and has around 3,000 active members. The Ecole de Voile and the J/70 sailing team, both supported by EFG, foster young talent such as recent Olympians Maud Jayet, Sébastien Schneiter and Arno De Planta, silver medallists at the 2023 Sailing World Championships in The Hague.

EFG Young Athletes Foundation

The EFG Young Athletes Foundation was founded in Hong Kong in 2009 to support promising young athletes in the local community and inspire them to fulfil their potential. The scheme spans a number of disciplines, including golf, tennis and equestrian sports and it enables rising sports stars to focus on their game as they embark on a journey to sporting excellence. All participants are selected on their commitment, character and ability to become positive role models within their chosen sport, attributes we hold in high regard.

EFG Young Athletes Foundation Ambassadors rank among some of the city’s finest athletes. We are very proud that Coleman Wong, who is Hong Kong’s top male tennis player as well as Eudice Chong and Cody Wong are all Ambassadors of the EFG Young Athletes Foundation. In addition to the top tennis players, we also support Hong Kong professional golfer, Matthew Cheung, and Hong Kong’s top amateur golfer, Arianna Lau and Singapore's first golfer to qualify for the Olympics, Shannon Tan.

Shannon Tan

Shannon Tan, Singapore's first golf Olympian and the first Singaporean to win on the Ladies European Tour (LET), is the country's top golf star. In May 2024, Shannon joined EFG as our newest Singapore Sports Ambassador. This partnership aims to support Shannon in Majors and the Olympics, while also positioning her as a role model to inspire young people in Singapore. Shannon will play a key role in promoting golf among youth, encouraging their involvement and fostering a passion for the sport.
