Smart token

a) Accessing the e-connect service

  1. Open your internet browser and enter the address (URL): www.e-connect.bsibank.com
  2. In the box below, enter the contract number (User-ID) for e-connect, supplied in a separate letter.

  1. To generate the One Time Password, press the <Power> button on the smart token.
  2. Enter the PIN code, supplied in a separate letter.
  3. Press <OK> to confirm the PIN and display the One Time Password on the screen (8 numerical characters). A new One Time Password will be generated every time you carry out this procedure in order to guarantee a high level of security.

  1. Enter the One Time Password in the box indicated below and press the <Login> button.

For security reasons, we recommend you immediately change the PIN code (see the following procedure “Changing the PIN code”) supplied in a separate letter and do so periodically.
We suggest that you do not use easily guessable number sequences for the PIN code (e.g. date of birth). We strongly recommend you keep the PIN code and the smart token in separate places.

b) Changing the PIN code

  1. Turn on the smart token using the <Power> button.
  2. Enter the PIN code supplied in a separate letter. Press <OK> to display the One Time Password on the screen.
  3. Press and hold the <POWER> button to execute the PIN change function.
  4. The device will ask you to enter the new PIN.
  5. Press <OK> to complete the action.
  6. The device will ask you to confirm the new PIN.
  7. Press <OK> to complete the operation and check whether the two codes entered match up.
  8. If the confirmation is correct, the smart token will turn itself off.
  9. Pressing <Power> will turn off the smart token at any time.

c) Closing your e-connect session

We recommend that every time you finish each session on e-connect, you delete all information from your browser’s history that relates to the closed session.
By clicking on the following link, you can access our partner site “eBanking – but secure!” created by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, which provides you with information on security when using e-banking and on individual IT security in general.
